Traditional Chinese medicine and infertility

Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture have been used for hundreds of years to treat issues of female and male fertility and reproductive health.

Whether you are trying to conceive naturally or are using assisted reproductive techniques (ART), acupuncture and TCM can help you prepare not only for conception, but for a healthy and successful pregnancy.

Western science has shown that the recruitment process for a woman’s follicles begins 3-5 months prior to ovulation, and the process for sperm development is 90 days in general. So it is most ideal to begin acupuncture and TCM treatment at least 3 months before trying to conceive.

At our clinic, we treat people facing infertility using TCM alone, or in combination with concurrent western intervention such as IUI, IVF and other ART procedures. The partnering of TCM and Western medicine is proving to be an effective combination by up to 65% rate improvement in conception. There are many causes of infertility; we have extensive experience treating patients with a variety of fertility and reproductive disorders.

"My wife Sarah and I had tried for a while to have a child. After looking into other medical options, we both started seeing Fiona and Gang for general maintenance and the hope that it would increase our chances. We were thrilled to be pregnant within two months and have continued our sessions ever since." - Sean M.
